Overview

Child abuse is performing an action that resorts in harm to the child. Child abuse can be emotional, physical, or sexual. Neglecting, beating, and not providing for your child are also forms of child abuse. Abused children suffer from a great amount of physical and emotional damage. As an affect of abuse, children can likely become depressed, violent, or have suicidal thoughts or tendencies.  "About 80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one physiological disorder." (National Child Abuse Statistics 1) When the abused children become older, they may likely use drugs, alcohol or be abusive like their parents.  "About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of child abuse." (Statistics&Research 1)

It is terrible to know that"In 2010, five innocent children died a day from their evil parents beating them to death... and, 80% of those children were under the age of four " (Child Abuse and Neglect 1). "In a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services study of homeless youth, it found that 46% of those surveyed had escaped a home where they suffered physical abuse", the physically abused are forced to escape their homes, and become independent at a young age, with little resources.  (Child Abuse: Statistics & Facts 1).  Not only does Child Abuse effect the children when they are young, but it will carry on into their adulthood, "14% of all men in prison in the USA were abused as a child" (National Child Abuse Statistics 1).  Child abuse is extremely horrifying and it really needs to be stopped.
